Gladys L. Schmidt Obituary (1925

Gladys L. Linnemann Schmidt, 87, of Grayville, IL, died Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi, IL. She was born October 23, 1925, in Jackson County, IL, the daughter of Andrew and Sophie (Hornbussle) Poentski. She was married to Charles W. Linnemann and he preceded her in death on January 2, 1977. She later married Norville Schmidt, and he also preceded her in death in the early 1980s. Gladys was a member of the Eastern Star and Northside Baptist Church in Grayville. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, painting and crafts. She is survived by her son Don (Aletha) Linnemann of Grayville; daughter Paula (John) Conner of Hartsville, OH; grandchildren Donald Andrew (Cheryl) Linnemann, Charles Dale Linnemann, Ashley Conner, Lauren Conner, Chelsea Conner and Iva Conner; great grandchildren Scott, Zack, Jessica, Kassandra, Shelby and Sophie. Preceding her in death are her parents; both husbands; and eleven siblings. Graveside funeral service will be at 10 am, Monday, July 8, 2013, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Grayville. There will be no prior visitation. Those wishing to attend the graveside service should be at the cemetery by 10 am. Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville is in charge of arrangements.
