Marita G. Gracie Wilson Obituary (1932

Marita Grace Gracie Wilson, 91, of Grayville, Illinois, died Monday, December 4, 2023, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. She was born April 11, 1932, in Johnson, Indiana, the daughter of Arthur and Florence (Walling) Garrett. She was married to Herman Wilson on January 5, 1949, and he preceded her in death in 1985. Gracie was a homemaker, but she was also a bus driver, truck driver, farmer, seamstress, gardener, 4-H Mom, and she enjoyed arts and crafts. Survivors include daughter Becki (Tim) Alcorn of Grayville; grandchildren Tami Gubbins (Rob Gaddey), Jamey Field (Tom Robb); great-grandchildren Elih (Mikaela), Ri, and Tyler. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter Barb Wilson; sister Janie Riddle; and brothers Loye and Tom Garrett. In keeping with Gracies wishes, her remains were cremated and a visitation will be 1-3 pm, Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville, Illinois. A reception immediately following the visitation will be at the Grayville Moose Lodge. Memorials may be made to Groff Memorial Library and will be accepted at Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville.
