Carla J. Ediger

Carla Joan Taylor Ediger of Nolensville, TN, age 57, died Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at Alive Hospice in Nashville. Carla was diagnosed with cancer two years ago, but it returned after surgery and chemo.

Carla was born in Carmi, IL, on August 3, 1960, the daughter of Carl and Bonnie (Goddard) Taylor. She was born again on May 23, 1971, when she was baptized with 12 others at Georgia General Baptist Church. She graduated from Carmi Township High School in 1978, where she was a member of the Singing Six. Following her mother into the accounting profession, Carla graduated from Oral Roberts University, summa cum laude, and worked for a public accounting firm in Oklahoma. Working for the FSLIC and FDIC in Dallas she met another accountant, Duane Ediger, whom she married in 1998. Through Duane she gained step-children Jason Lee Ediger of Santa Rosa, CA, and Brooke Mariah Boor (husband Zach Boor) of Hot Sulphur Springs, CO, and two step-grandchild, Scarlett Lee Ediger and Leonard Von Boor.

The family moved to Nolensville, TN, with Duanes work for the FDIC. Carla has worked with Connect Ministries, a youth ministry for the past several years, as their financial manager. She was actively involved in Bible Study Fellowship in the town of Nolensville, having been Chairman of both the Budget and Design Review committees.

Carla is survived by her mother, Bonnie, of Carmi; brother Mark Taylor and wife Vicky of Mt. Vernon, IL; niece Amanda Taylor Carnes and husband Mike of Bluford, IL, and their son Wyatt; nephew Mat Taylor and wife Pam of Southington, OH, and their children Jacob and Madison; well as her uncle Joe Goddard and wife Shirley of Pasadena, CA. Carla was devoted to her dog, Brunwin, who passed in 2015, and to her family.

Visitation and funeral are Saturday, December 9, 2017, at Crossroads Church in Norris City, Illinois. Visitation is at 10:00 am and funeral is at 11:00 am. Burial is in Taylor Cemetery in Vienna, Illinois.
