Donald Linnemann

Donald Ray Linnemann, 81, of Grayville, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana. He was born on Saturday, August 12, 1944, in Murphysboro, Illinois, the son of Charles and Gladys (Poentski) Linnemann. On February 19, 1966, he married Aletha Mae Hartmann at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Steeleville, Illinois and together they shared over fifty years of marriage before her passing on May 3, 2016.

Donald honorably served his country in the United States Army. He was a lifelong coal miner working last for Amex Coal in Keensburg. Donald was a Freemason and member of Grayville Sheba Lodge # 200 A.F. & A.M. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and hunting.

Survivors include, his sons, Andy (Cheryl) Linnemann of Grayville, IL and Charlie (Merritt) Linnemann of Hephzibah, GA; grandchildren, Scott (Dannielle) Linnemann, Zachary (Anna) Linnemann, Jessica Linnemann, Kassi (Colton Brown) Linnemann, Shelby Linnemann and Sophia (Jacob Way) Linnemann and great-grandchildren, Marci, Fiona, Walker, Colsen and Margo.

Along with his wife, Donald was preceded in death by his parents.

Private Family Services will be held at a later date.
