Elinor Glyn Pumphrey Obituary (1924

Elinor Glyn Pumphrey, 91, died March 30, 2015, at Boardwalk Village in Fishers, Indiana. She was born July 26, 1924, in Heralds Prairie Township, White County, Illinois, the daughter of Ira and Lucille (Lasater) Grant. She married Alan E. Pumphrey on November 18, 1950, and he preceded her in death on March 11, 2006. Elinor was as member of the Presbyterian Church in Carmi. After her children were older, she went from being a stay-at-home mother to sales of major appliances at J.C. Penney in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was an avid Indiana Pacers fan and enjoyed playing bridge. But, her favorite times were spent with her family, especially her grandson Jeffrey. Survivors include son Alan E. Pumphrey of Fishers; daughters Gail L. (William) Spangler of Wildwood, Missouri, and Lisa G. Pumphrey of Fishers; and grandson Jeffrey William Spangler. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband. Memorial service at 2 pm Monday, April 6th, at Big Prairie Methodist Church. No prior visitation.
