Elisabeth Betty Jane Johnston Obituary (1921

Elisabeth Jane Betty Johnston, 94, formerly of Grayville, Illinois, died Sunday, July 19, 2015, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born may 26, 1921, in Elgin, Illinois, the daughter of Harry Charles Gilkerson and Fern Juanita (Goodrich) Gilkerson. She married Robert B. Johnston on June 4, 1941, and he preceded her in death on March 26, 2005. Betty was a member of the Grayville United Methodist Church and a member of the Eastern Star. She was retired from being City Clerk for Grayville. Knitting and genealogy were among her favorite pastimes. Survivors include son Larry W. (Susan) Johnston of Tulsa, Oklahoma; daughter Mary (Mark) Taylor of Edmond, Oklahoma; brother Charles (Joan) Gilkerson of Mt. Carmel, Illinois; grandchildren Joshua (Lauren) Taylor of Atlanta, Georgia, Matthew (Katie) Taylor of Oklahoma City, Stacy (Charles) Schulz of Wichita, Kansas, Janna (Todd) Greathouse of Jenks, Oklahoma, Jeff Johnston of San Francisco, California; great grandchildren Nathan Greathouse, Calvin Greathouse, Sawyer Taylor, Elim Schulz, Isla Schulz. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; great granddaughters Emilyn and Hailey Schulz. Visitation and funeral are Saturday, July 25th, at Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville. Visitation is at 10 am and funeral is at 12 noon. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Albion, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Grayville United Methodist Church.
