Evalyn V. Bradshaw

Evalyn V. Bradshaw, 90, formerly of Grayville, Illinois, died March 20, 2016, at Cape Canaveral Hospital in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She was born September 27, 1925, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Jim and Alice (Glover) Edwards. She was married to Carl Bradshaw, and he preceded her in death.

Evalyn was a graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University and a teacher in the Wadesville, Illinois, school system. In her earlier years, she was the choir director for the First Christian Church in Grayville. After her retirement in 1988, she and Carl moved to Cocoa Beach, Florida.

Survivors include her daughter Barbara A. Bradshaw of Merritt Island, Florida; nieces Marilyn Coley Schnarr, Carolyn Coley Fellie, Gwen Bradshaw Tooley; and special 24-hour caregiver, Michelle-Atkins Carnes (whom Evalyn called her Angel).

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and nephew Edward Adamson.

Visitation and memorial service are Sunday, April 17, 2016, at Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville. Visitation is at 1 pm, and memorial service is at 2 pm, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery in Grayville.
