Virginia Jenny Ann Rister

Virginia Ann Jenny Rister, 64, of Carmi, Illinois, died Thursday, March 27, 2014, at Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi. She was born September 22, 1949, in Carmi, the daughter of William Edward and Dorothy (Gentry) Evans. She was married to Archie Rister, and he preceded her in death.

Jenny worked for many years as a manager at McDonalds Restaurant in Carmi.

Survivors include her son, Tony (Kathleen) Rister, and their son Andrew Rister, all of Carmi; sisters Betty Barton of Lynnville, IN, and Donna (Norman) Carpenter of Wayne City, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter Jennifer Rister; sisters Helen, Sara and Joyce; and brothers Elwood and Richard Dumpy.

Visitation will be 5-8 pm, Tuesday, April 1st, at Cook Funeral Chapel in Carmi. A private family burial will be at a later date in Newman Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the family.
